A VBScript to transer files from a Camera |
Camera-Xfer IntroCamera-Xfer is used to move files from a camera into a folder under My Pictures then rename the camera files with the file name format of foldername_###.EXT. (foldername is the folder name, ### is sequential numbering starting from 001). Camera-Xfer works with Cameras that are Removable Disks or with Memory Readers. It is free software and licensed under the GNU Public License. If the destination folder under My Pictures has files in it and they follow the Camera-Xfer format (foldername_###.EXT) then Camera-Xfer will obtain the highest sequence number from the existing files and add 1 to it. Then Camera-Xfer will use this calculated value as the start for the sequential numbering of the new files being copied. Camera-Xfer is a vbscript which uses Microsoft® Windows® Shell to access the BrowseForFolder dialog box and the Folder object for performing the Move operation (with progress dialog box). According to MSDN, computers running Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0, the Shell objects are available only if the integrated desktop (Active Desktop) is installed. Note (9/2006): Camera-Xfer was orginally designed for my Mom and since it has been working great for her no new features have been added. I noticed there are still downloads of Camera-xfer so if you are using it, please leave a comment in the Forum. Camera-Xfer UsageFirst Time Use Steps
